Britain’s Incredible Abandoned Nuclear Bunker Network | Cold War UK
Take your personal data back with Incogni! Use code CALUM at the link below and get 60% off an annual plan: incogni.com/calum
Hidden all across the United Kingdom are thousands of abandoned nuclear bunkers - but why? Britain's Nuclear Monitoring posts were fascinating, analog system that would build a picture of where nuclear strikes were happening and where fallout was spreading in the event of a nuclear war. I climb underground to find out more about this amazing network.

It has of course a scene about the sinking digitally very well made and subtitled in english ua-cam.com/video/Tlnl6w8OtQs/v-deo.html Two years later I passed the place with the boat from Copenhagen. Excellent video. Really enjoyed it! I read about this action many years ago, and always found it fascinating, but haven't run across a more detailed account of Blucher's battle with the fort until now. Thank you! One quibble. Blucher was NOT a battleship. She was a heavy cruiser. "Battleship" is a specific type of warship, not a synonym for "warship". Many younger historians do not realize this. :)

The Altmark carried prisoners of war into a Norwegian port. According to International Law the Almark lost protection neutral Norway when this happened. The Norwegian government ignored British diplomatic protests and request that the prisoners be freed. I wonder way. Additionally Hitler had adopted the conclusion of a military paper, that Germany needed to seize Norwegian ports to prevent another successful British blockade of Germany. While the seisure of Navik would be convenient , Germany could stock pile all the iron ore it needed in the warm season from Sweden. The Swedish Navy protected ore ships to Germany. Germany didn't suffer iron ore shortages during WWI without Conquering Norway. While the British did begin planing to invade Norway, it was not completed shelved. Just compare the dismal planning of the British intervention and compare it to the through planning of the German high command. My hat goes off to the brave Norwegians. But neutrality had it's cost.

As a Finn I can not do without making comparison to battle wich took place just few months earlier. Similar size Finland could resist Soviet Union and Red Army never made to Helsinki. Norwegians had support of Royal Navy and German forces were 10 % size of the Red Amy attacking Finland. Why Norway could not hold?
